SOA

I believe that the SOA is a good idea. If the United States wants to spread Democracy to other counties, why not? A democratic government has worked out successfully with several other countries. So it is important to try to help other countries with this approach. If the goal of the SOA is to help other countries in the long run then I do not see any harm.
Plus this isn't violent. It is not like we are training people to go kill leaders and take dictator-like power. The mission statement from the SOA reads "SOA Watch is a nonviolent grassroots movement that works to stand in solidarity with the people of Latin America and the Caribbean, to close the SOA/WHINSEC and to change oppressive U.S. foreign policy that the SOA represents."
SOA Watch is an independent organization that seeks to close the US Army School of the Americas, under whatever name it is called, through vigils and fasts, demonstrations and nonviolent protest, as well as media and legislative work. "
Protest, media, and legislative work are harmless. There are protests all the time by regular citizens. Graduates of the SOA might lead a protest or participate in involvement in these protests, (possible riots) but there is still no hurt if the U.S just wants to improve a less fortunate country.
