This poster nicely describes sexism during the 1950's. Women were thought of as weaker and of less value. Women were only good to do the things men didn't like to do like stay home and be house wives'. Women we only good for cooking cleaning dusting keeping the house tidy and taking care of the kids. The men went out to work and made the money and income for the house. Some men beat their wives, but mostly the women always stay in line and serve as the back bone for the family. Once a woman did her work then the husband and wife maintained a healthy relationship. Most families were boring and extremely routine. Not all women went to college. And the divorce rate was low because the man always had to take care of the woman because women cant defend their selves with out an education.
