Textile Factory workers

The lives of the textile works were no where near close to pleasant. Every word in these lyrics sends off a negative vibe. This song produces the story of a life consisting of suffering, hurt, misery, and hard labor. The song explains and describes how tough exhaustion hit these people, and how the textile workers had to live. It was brutal and cruel. The song says, "Stitch, stitch, stitch, -in poverty, hunger, and dirt" . These people were beyond poor, these people worked long days while in poverty, they lived and worked in dirt. These people did whatever t took to survive. It also says "And human lives so cheap" There lives were worth nothing. These people had no value or purpose (according to the song).  They are worthless and there only purpose was to get work done that no body else of higher statue would do. These people (or humans) were creatures and women "sat in un-womanly rags". These workers barely had clothes they were so poor. This song speaks of a poor woman sewing as an example of one of the several textile workers lives.
